Ingredients
- ⅔ cup soft butter
- 1 ¾ cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 ½ tsp. vanilla
- 2 ¾ cups sifted flour
- 2 ½ tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt 1 ¼ cups milk
Directions
- Heat oven to 350°. Grease well and dust with flour 2 9 ½” round layer pans or a 9×13 oblong pan.
- Combine butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla in mixing bowl. Beat 5 minutes on high speed on mixer or by hand until fluffy (5 minutes total beating time).
- Sift together flour, baking powder, salt. Add alternatively in four additions with milk. (Start and end with the dry ingredients).
- Beat on low speed just until smooth.
- Pour into prepared pan. Bake layers 35 to 40 minutes, oblong 45 to 50 minutes. 7. Ice with your favorite icing.
